A tough challenge – this front room is used by a busy photographer for working and sleeping. It’s an editing suite, mini-studio, creative den and relaxation space all in one.
There were many different aspects about use, function and mood to consider. Top of the list was additional storage space and creating a more cohesive look for the space to feel more organised and less cluttered. The sofa bed, shelving and desk were each a different coloured wood. The carpet was outdated and frayed and the curtains impractical to close with the desk being in front of the bay window.
After taking a detailed brief, I presented two alternative schemes to the owner with more storage space and a calmer overall feel.
Although the project isn’t finished yet, the client was very pleased with the schemes presented to him.
