It’s officially autumn and September is my birthday month. Although I generally like this season, I often find myself I want to keep the summer vibes going for a bit longer. As they days get shorter, I want to make the most of every single ray of sunshine and keep my energy levels up. And when stuck indoors, I am not yet ready to surrender to autumn colours or, heaven forbid, Christmas decorations.
This year, we’ve seen a lot of safari, jungle and tropcial inspired design ideas. Leaf print soft furnishings, rattan chairs and tables, wooden accessories…the perfect trend to prolong the summer feeling. A simple way to bring this into your living space is adding cushions or a rug. So I’ve been researching some tropical inspired rugs. Here is a selection of my favourite finds.
Sanderson, Manila – comes at a price, but you get the quality with it being 100% wool; available in three sizes, the smallest is 140 x 200 cm
Society6.com, banana leaf rug – also comes in three sizes, with the smallest option being approximately 60 x 90 cm
Ebay – the favourite treasure trove, if you have the patience to search; a bit smaller than the others being 60 x 90 cm
